George Kozanidis was born in Athens in 1974. He graduated from the department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering of the University of Thessaly in 1997. He received his MSc degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University, USA, in 1998, his MSc degree in Operations Research and his PhD degree in Industrial Engineering, both from Northeastern University, USA, in 2002. During his graduate studies in USA, he worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant and as a Lecturer. In 2002, he received the Teaching Excellence Award from the College of Engineering of Northeastern University. Between April 2004 and April 2007, he worked as an Adjunct Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering of the University of Thessaly. Since April 2007 he has been a Lecturer of Optimization Methods of Production/Service Systems at the same department. He teaches the undergraduate courses Factory Administration, and Integer Programming & Combinatorial Optimization and the graduate courses Scheduling - Project Management and Quality, Reliabity and Maintenance Systems. In the past, he has also taught the undergraduate course Statistical Quality Control. His research interests lie in the area of Operations Research (Integer Programming, Design and Analysis of Optimization Algorithms, Stochastic Analysis of Production/Transportation Systems, Multicriteria Optimization). He has participated in several funded research scientific projects, both as a principal investigator and as a researcher. He has also served as a referee/reviewer for several international scientific journals and conferences. He is a member of the Hellenic Operations Research Society, INFORMS and the Technical Chamber of Greece. |
